the Guild since 2018.\nThe pianist, band leader, singer, composer and tv and radio presenter has been an avid clock and watch collector for many years and has a great love of mechanical things made by the human hand, along with a great admiration for the skills and craft of the format you see today. She has been working in horology for the past twenty years, previously as Editor of the British Horological Institute\u2019s Horological Journal. He then worked for a number of watch repair workshops before ending up with Watches of Switzerland Group, evenutally becoming Head of the Service Centre. He trained at the family workshop under the guidance of his uncle and father, before relocating to the UK in 1983, where he continued training with the BHI, ETA and WOSTEP. at the age of 15 and he began work  in 1963 as a clock and watchmaker at a shop in North Watford. He became a Fellow of the British Horological Institute in 1968.\n\nIn 1984, he started working as a clockmaker at Buckingham Palace, becoming the Queen\u2019s Clockmaker in 1986, which involved travelling to the other Royal Houses and Palaces to attend to the clocks.\n\nHe joined became a Director of the BWCMG in 1989 and served as Chairman for two years around 2006. This passion led him to a three-year apprenticeship in antiquarian horology at The Clock Workshop in Hampshire, supported by both the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers and the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust. Alongside his apprenticeship, Lewis completed the British Horological Institute\u2019s distance learning course, earning him MBHI status.\nIn 2024, Lewis joined the clock department at Bonhams and is based in their New Bond Street headquarters in London, where he continues to share his expertise and enthusiasm for horology with collectors and enthusiasts alike.\nLewis is passionate about preserving the art and history of clockmaking and enjoys sharing his discoveries with a growing community on Instagram, connecting with people both inside and outside the world of horology.\nIn addition to his work in horology, Lewis sits on the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust\u2019s Youth Advisory Board, where he hopes to play a small part in supporting the future of heritage In the same year, after deciding that he wanted to move into bespoke watchmaking, he started working full-time at his Great British Watch Company which he founded in 2011, designing, developing and During this time he has amassed an impressive number of qualifications on a wide range of subjects from hydraulics, welding and scaffolding to computer and information technology, CAD design, programming using CAD\/CAM and machine setting. To advance to watchmaker level, he undertook formal training in Horology at the Birmingham School of Jewellery, where he earned awards from both the British Watch and Clock Makers\u2019  Guild and the George Daniels Educational Trust. During this time, he also completed several BHI exams and worked at an Omega boutique, gaining both technical and retail experience.\n \n After graduating, he returned to Signet\u2019s main UK service centre as a Watchmaker and gained his OMEGA accreditation.
